A 1000gns call for shearling ewe Dovery Hazel was the highlight of the Blue Texels at Welshpool, with this one from Messrs Comer and Simpson, Llandovery, being by Nantyderri Flashy and out of a dam by a Hackney sire. She was taken by Paula Jessop, Leciestershire.

Then selling for 900gns was the day’s champion from the pre-sale show, Solway View Hitomi from Kevin Watret, Annan. This gimmer is by Sunnybank Exchange Rate and out of an imported dam and was knocked down to the day’s judge Mike Davies for the Severn View flock, Caersws.

Following her at 800gns was ewe lamb Solway View Joule from the same home. She’s a daughter of Caryl’s Blues Hulk and out of a dam by Matt’s Freedom and was bought by W D Isaac, Ceredigion.
And then at 680gns was Glan Y Mor Henrietta from the Jones family, Gwynedd. Sired by Brutey’s Blues Flintstone and out of a daughter of an imported sire she was bought by D E D Davies, Ceredigion.
Rams
Top call in the tups was an 800gns bid for a shearling ram from the Ty Gwyn flock of G and L Davies, Fishguard. This son of Nantyderri Finest is out of a dam by a Hackney sire and was bought by D and C Woodhouse, Anglesey.
After that at 750gns was the day’s reserve champion, Solway View Jack Daniels from Kevin Watret. This ram lamb is by Caryl’s Blues Hulk and out of a dam by a Corra sire and was taken by Adrian Windsor, Carmarthenshire.
Making 600gns was Ludlow-based Neil and Emily Brown’s shearling ram Hayton’s Blues Hendrix. He’s by a Turbo Blue sire and out of a dam by a Hackney tup and sold to S White, Carmarthenshire.
