Shearling ewe leads Welshpool Blue TexelsA 1000gns call for shearling ewe Dovery Hazel was the highlight of the Blue Texels atWelshpool, with this one from Messrs Comer and Simpson, Llandovery,being by Nantyderri Flashy and out of a dam by a Hackney sire. She was taken by Paula Jessop, Leciestershire.

Then selling for 900gns was the day’s champion from the pre-sale show, Solway View Hitomifrom Kevin Watret, Annan. This gimmer is by Sunnybank Exchange Rate and out of animported dam and was knocked down to the day’s judge Mike Davies for the Severn Viewflock, Caersws.

Following her at 800gns was ewe lamb Solway View Joule from the same home. She’s adaughter of Caryl’s Blues Hulk and out of a dam by Matt’s Freedom and was bought by W DIsaac, Ceredigion.

And then at 680gns was Glan Y Mor Henrietta from the Jones family, Gwynedd. Sired byBrutey’s Blues Flintstone and out of a daughter of an imported sire she was bought by D E DDavies, Ceredigion.

Males

Top call in the tups was an 800gns bid for a shearling ram from the Ty Gwyn flock of G and LDavies, Fishguard. This son of Nantyderri Finest is out of a dam by a Hackney sire and wasbought by D and C Woodhouse, Anglesey.

After that at 750gns was the day’s reserve champion, Solway View Jack Daniels from KevinWatret. This ram lamb is by Caryl’s Blues Hulk and out ofa dam by a Corra sire and wastaken by Adrian Windsor, Carmarthenshire.

Making 600gns wasLudlow-basedNeil and Emily Brown’s shearling ram Hayton’s BluesHendrix. He’s by a Turbo Blue sire and out of a dam by a Hackney tup and sold to S White,Carmarthenshire.

Averages; four shearling rams £590.63, six ram lambs £484.75, three aged ewes £420, 29shearling ewes £514.14, four ewe lambs £506.63 (Welshpool Livestock Sales).
