Bowring Delivers Knockout Blow with Supreme Champion at Royal Highland Show

Judge Chrissy Davies cast an experienced eye over a strong entry of sheep at this year’s Royal Highland Show, where quality was evident throughout the classes, and competition proved keen from the opening section through to the championships. 

The aged ram class was led by Angus Brisbane’s Brutey’s Blues Jackpot PDB/24/09096 bred by Paul & Delyth Brute, with V. & G. Bowring taking second and Kate Flynn placing third. In the shearling ram class, Jack Whiteford came out on top with Blackjack King of Diamonds JJW/25/27849, ahead of Angus Brisbane and D. Munro. 

A particularly competitive ram lamb class was won by Steph Dick with Stephick Lionheart SPK/26/00353, while David & Clare Gray filled both second and third places with a strong pair of lambs. 

Among the females, Jennifer McKilligan claimed first prize in the aged ewe class with Jems Juicy Lucy JEM/24/00256, ahead of Steph Dick and Angus Brisbane. The shearling ewe class was headed by V. & G. Bowring’s outstanding Knockmult KitKat RWM/25/03261 bred by Russel Millen, which later went on to claim the day’s highest honours. The ewe lamb class was won by Stuart Wood with SBT/26/04520, followed by Bimbister Partnership and John Graham.
