A reduced entry than what is usually on offer for this sale due to Bluetongue restrictions, the Blue Texel sale saw a top call of 1800gns for the reserve male champion and second placed ram lamb, Pollyannas Kitt from Polly Bishop, Eldersfield, Glos.

By Hardy Blues Greatest Showman and out of a Bishops female by Tyisaf Dynamo, this one sold in a two-way split to Nina Smith, Moreton In Marsh, Glos and Richard Bett, Louth, Lincolnshire.
Next up in the ram lamb offering was a call of 1000gns for the male and reserve overall champion, Eastbury Kaiser Chief from Dave and Kathryn Thompson, Blandford Forum, Dorset. Tapped out as reserve by Dylan Jones of the Beili Blues flock, this one is by Yarburgh Juke Box and is out of a homebred female by Glanrafon Blues Dark Knight and was the pick on the day of Chris Davies, Brecon, Powys, for his Beaconsview flock.


The shearling ram offering on the day was topped by Sophie Long, Bishops Frome, Herefordshire, with Littlebrook Juggler selling for 1100gns. By Beaconsivew Flash Harry and out of a homebred female by a Nantyderri tup, Juggler heads to Atherstone, Warwickshire, with commercial producers Greenfields Lamb.
The same buyers also went to 900gns to secure the second highest priced shearling ram on the day from the same home, this being the first placed shearling ram, Littlebrook Jumanji. By the 2850gns Severn View GI Joe, he’s out of a Flash Harry daughter.
Leading female trade at 1100gns was the pre-sale female and overall champion, a ewe lamb from Victoria Bowring, Mansfield, Notts. Wind-Mill Karma is by Ettrick Jetsetter and out of a Nantyderri-bred homebred female. Taking this one home to Church Stretton, Shropshire, for the Sacombe flock were Messrs Barker and Borlase.
