Yarburgh ewe lamb charms the buyers at Worcester

The inaugural Three Counties Blue Texel Club Sale at Worcester Livestock Market on Saturday 8th August proved a roaring success with a top call of 2800gns for ewe lamb Yarburgh Lucky Charm from Richard and Jade Bett, Louth, Lincolnshire.

This one is by Boyo Emperor and out of a Sunnybank-bred dam by Whatmore Europe. After spirited bidding she sold to Natalie Legge for the Westwood flock, Bromyard.

Next best in the females at 1700gns was a gimmer from the same home, YAR/25/01001, with this one being a Titanium Game On daughter out of a dam by Boyo Emperor. She sold to Paula Jessop, Coalville, Leicestershire.

Following close behind at 1600gns was another gimmer, this time from Sophie Long’s Bishops Frome, Herefordshire-based Littlebrook flock, in the form of Littlebrook Kylie. Sired by Beaconsview Flash Harry, she’s out of a dam by the imported Littlebrook Brucie Bonus and was knocked down to Hydes Farming, Thaxted, Essex.

A 1200gns call followed that for a gimmer from Steve and Sara Gibbons, Brecon with Whatmore Kiss. She’s by the homebred Whatmore Harvest and out of a dam by Derg G I Joe and also headed back to Essex with previous buyer, Hydes Farming.

A 2600gns call led the males on offer with this paid for the reserve male champion from the pre-sale show, Diesel le Bomb from Ben James, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire. Sired by Sunnybank Exchange Rate and out of a dam by Whatmore Bentley, he sold to Sam Hale, Hertfordshire for the Sacombe flock.

Then at 2200gns was Wind-Mill Lorenzo from Vicky Bowring, Newark, Notts. Sired by the homebred Wind-Mill Hurricane and out of a dam by Mullygarrow Grey Goose, he was taken by Sophie Long for the Littlebrook flock, Herefordshire.

This one is by Stephick High Flyer and out of a Sams-bred dam by Hunters Cortachy. He found a new home with the judge from the pre-sale show David Roberts for the Boyo flock, Kenley, Shrewsbury.

Buying him was Ryan Came-Johnson, Wellington, Somerset, for the Trebant flock.
